GPU primitives startup raises $1B Series A to express full training runs in a single kernel

A startup building new GPU primitives has raised a $1 billion Series A co-led by Index and Lux. The team spent the past year developing control-flow primitives general enough to express full training runs in a single kernel.
This enables workloads that are weirder, more dynamic, and more fine-grained than existing frameworks support — they can even run DOOM inside a kernel. The company believes these primitives will unlock new learning algorithms, open new markets, and dramatically reshape AI's cost structure; it is hiring GPU systems engineers.
