Stanford's Librarian Agents: RL-curated workspaces boost long-context QA by 30+ points
khademinori · x · 2026-10-22
Stanford (Chelsea Finn) and CMU introduce Librarian Agents, a framework where an agent proactively reorganizes unstructured corpora into filesystem-based workspaces anticipating future queries, trained end-to-end with RL to maximize downstream query success. It beats the best baseline by 33 points on BrowseComp+ and generalizes out-of-distribution with a 31-point average gain on BRIGHT. Paper and code are available.
