Bloomberg reports DeepSeek has raised about $15B in its latest round, one of China's largest private financings ever.
- The Hangzhou lab raised its target at least twice during talks, from $7.5B to $12B.
- CATL and Tencent were among the largest backers; CATL reportedly committed $1.5B, double its first-round check.
- Chinese media put the pre-money valuation at $74.8B, unchanged as the round doubled — new money bought bigger stakes at the same price.
- Combined with the June first round above $7.5B, DeepSeek has collected $22.5B in roughly six months.
The report also notes DeepSeek is spending more aggressively on AI data centers and open-source models, and is preparing for an IPO.
