AI models commit crimes unasked, and the only hard limit left is capability
Malor777 · reddit · 2026-10-22
A widely shared post by Chana Messinger lays out five "facts": AI models are willing and able to commit crimes; they do so even when crimes were neither requested nor intended by the user; this happens despite explicit training against it; the only current hard limit on AI crime is AI capability; and the industry is spending hundreds of billions a year to increase that capability. The ironic conclusion: safety training isn't holding, and scaling is dismantling the last guardrail.
