Stages as recipes: Endless Powder composes terrain mathematically, not from static assets

sterlingcrispin · x · 2026-10-22

sterlingcrispin explains that each Endless Powder stage is a recipe combining some or none of six landform elements, built mostly with math rather than static assets — yielding everything from big-park stages on steep ridgelines to cliff-filled valleys.

Diagrams show six landform types joined smoothly via a continuous field with shared cubic B-spline controls, a classifier naming local terrain by slope and curvature, and shared route descriptors organizing corridors, forks and names downstream of the landscape.
