Endless Powder dev details snowboard footprints: a shape, not a point stamp
sterlingcrispin · x · 2026-10-22
Developer Sterling Crispin breaks down Endless Powder's snow interaction: the board is treated as an oriented shape projected to 2D — a stadium-shaped footprint (half-length 0.6 m, half-width 0.13 m) that yields thin slices on toeside edges and deep digs when slashing. The visual stamp reads the rendered board matrix with a short swept history bridging frames. Players can also dismount, walk, climb and throw snowballs, with feet and snowballs sharing the same height-field edit system.
