Couple builds online pixel RPG with Claude Code, mixing hand-drawn art with AI
AkiraVero · reddit · 2026-10-22
A couple is building Lumoria, a cozy online pixel RPG, with AI assistance and is seeking community feedback on visuals and combat (boss fight with a phase-two at 1:10 in the video).
- The author, from an infrastructure architect background, uses Claude Code with Opus 5.5 for day-to-day coding, running agents for the game server, combat, browser client, and map tools, plus routine tests. He also uses Astra as a second critic.
- His fiancee handles art and lore: she draws initial art by hand, uses AI to produce facings and animation frames, and does storyboarding and world lore.
- The art is explicitly not purely AI-generated — it's a hybrid human + AI workflow. Website and Discord are still heavy WIP.
