Codex Pro subscriber hits persistent "model at capacity" error despite remaining quota
RFAD2025 · ghdev · 2026-10-21
A Codex Pro (5x Plan) subscriber filed an issue on openai/codex reporting that every request on Codex Web returns "Selected model is at capacity. Please try a different model." — even though the account shows plenty of remaining quota. Retries over several hours failed to execute a single task, leading the user to suspect a capacity/routing problem or hidden account-level restrictions. The issue has 7 comments with no official fix yet.
