WebKitUI MCP 0.6.42 fixes invisible App Store Connect links and false-refusal postconditions
lowriskcork · reddit · 2026-10-22
- Developer ships WebKitUI MCP 0.6.42 after a real agent failure (filling App Store Connect's App Privacy questionnaire) exposed browser-automation blind spots.
- browserobserve now reports clickable text controls — cursor:pointer paragraphs/labels with click handlers but no role or href — so agents can see links like ASC's "Configure device ID" that previously appeared only in bodyText.
- Postconditions (targetabsent / dialogappears / panelopen) now only require all elements discovered, not untruncated field text; ASC overflows text bounds on every page, causing blanket refusals before.
- Clicks refused because a person held the window are recorded as not dispatched, keeping idempotency keys usable; site grants are now HMAC-authenticated with a Keychain-held key.
- Source-available (BUSL-1.1) Developer Preview for Apple silicon Macs on macOS 15+, signed, notarized, with SHA256SUMS.
