Databricks announces the general availability of AI Runtime (AIR), a fast way to launch GPU workloads: instead of provisioning GPU servers, code gets GPUs in seconds with easy access to all data. Matei Zaharia notes this is especially relevant now that agents can automate much of AI training and need to scale experiments up and down quickly. Companies including Robinhood, Superhuman, FactSet, and Merck are already using AIR to accelerate AI training.
