SemiAnalysis' GB300 vs DeepSeek profit chart called most misleading of the year: real gap is 10.9x
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-22
A detailed teardown of SemiAnalysis' GPU inference profit chart flags three misleading choices: comparing a GB300 ultimate rack against DeepSeek on GB200, peak vs off-peak pricing, and calling $51/hr revenue a "$50 profit." Recomputed on the same GB200 hardware at off-peak prices: vLLM earns $3.58/hr, SGLang $5.38, while DeepSeek makes $39/hr — 10.9x vLLM. At the chart's $4/hr GB200 rent, vLLM actually loses $0.42/hr at DeepSeek's real prices.
