HeyGen has released Video 1, a video generation model claiming to end the usual trade-off between speed and quality:
- Priced at $0.01/second, with text prompts or photo/reference-image input
- Generates a 2K shot with sound in under a minute
- Supports live action, hand-drawn, claymation, paper collage and more; available on HeyGen, via API, and in the HeyGen MCP
At a penny per second, voiced 2K video generation is now near the cost of static media — notable for short-form content and brand asset pipelines.
