Researchers present OpenTac, an open full-stack ecosystem for 3D tactile sensing: anyone can design and fabricate high-density tactile skins for any robot surface, then read them out, simulate them, and share data across sensors.
The skins are durable, easy to assemble, and offer high-resolution sensing tailored for robot hands; packaged in an agentic system it works out of the box. The team will demo at CoRL.
