OpenTac debuts: open full-stack ecosystem for 3D tactile sensing on any robot surface
_krishna_murthy · x · 2026-10-22
OpenTac is a new open, full-stack ecosystem for 3D tactile sensing: anyone can design and fabricate high-density tactile skins for any part of a robot, then read them out, simulate them, and share data across different sensors. Tactile researchers praise it as making contact information genuinely usable in robot manipulation rather than merely acknowledged.
