Anthropic launches Claude Duet, an always-on personal AI assistant powered by Opus 5.5
Dr_Singularity · x · 2026-10-22
- Anthropic announced Claude Duet, a personal AI assistant (research preview, waitlist, starting with US Pro/Max subscribers) powered by Opus 5.5 that keeps working after you close the app, running on its own cloud computer and accepting instructions via text or voice.
- Demoed use cases: morning briefings from email and calendar, drafting replies and following up on quiet threads, researching companies before meetings, checking unpaid Stripe invoices, and creating slide decks, financial models and dashboards; a cloud browser handles sites without connectors.
- It carries over existing Claude memory, skills and connected apps, supports approved purchases via Link and Shop Pay, and asks before sending messages, making payments, signing documents or deleting anything.
