RL researcher: domain-randomized policies inherently cover the friction distribution
ChongZzZhang · x · 2026-10-22
Robotics RL researcher ChongZzZhang noted that, in his experience, all RL policies trained with domain randomization handle the training distribution of friction—no slippage occurs within it—so intuitively friction should not affect the motions. This answers whether the world model also needs to change with friction.
