Anthropic opens Claude Duet research preview, says Opus 5.5 is first model with proactive judgment
mikeyk · x · 2026-10-22
Anthropic's mikeyk announced Claude Duet, opening today as a research preview behind a waitlist, positioned as "a trusted partner with your work."
After a few weeks of use, he cites drafting fireside chat questions, watching Slack over a weekend so he could log off, and recommending a new Neal Stephenson book — then ordering it from his local bookstore on request. The team says Opus 5.5 is their first model with the judgment to be proactive in the right ways — acting when appropriate rather than waiting to be asked.
