Anthropic launches Claude Duet research preview: a proactive agent app for Pro and Max users
Claude (Anthropic) · rss · 2026-10-21
Anthropic opened a waitlisted research preview of Claude Duet, a new app where Claude works as a proactive agent — morning briefs across connected apps, tasks that keep running on its own VM when you step away, and approval gates before messages, payments or deletions.
Built on Claude Opus 5.5, Duet never sees your credentials (Managed Agents design), is protected by the auto-mode classifier and browser-use prompt-injection defenses, red-teamed and covered by a bug bounty, plus a new classifier blocking the most sensitive data from being sent. Securities trading and money transfers are always off-limits. It taps 6,000+ Marketplace connectors (Gmail, Slack, QuickBooks, Gusto, Docusign, Shopify) and can buy things via Stripe's Link. Early testers include small-business owners using it for accounting, support and scheduling. Included in Pro/Max plans, iOS, Android and claude.ai.
