ABB ships RobotStudio HyperReality on NVIDIA Omniverse; Absolute Accuracy calibration is key

Reporting from the NVIDIA GTC Berlin keynote: Physical AI is accelerating, and simulation is becoming the core of robotics applications.
- ABB is rolling out RobotStudio HyperReality® to users, built on NVIDIA Omniverse libraries: export the entire cell — robots, sensors, parts, lighting — into Omniverse and simulate with physics
- Key insight: a simulation is only as good as the kinematic model of the specific arm in front of you, not the nominal datasheet one; every real robot differs from CAD via tolerance, link deflection, backlash, and thermal state
- ABB's Absolute Accuracy calibration measures the serial-numbered unit and corrects the model toward it; skip it and the render is beautiful while the robot still misses
- Simulation doesn't replace real-world testing
