Physics says we are still very far from the limits of technology
burny_tech · x · 2026-10-22
The poster argues that, judged by the boundaries set by the laws of physics, current technology is nowhere near its ceiling. The limits of computation are governed by physical and practical constraints—there is a theoretical cap on how much computation or data storage can be performed with a given amount of mass, volume, or energy, and humanity remains far from those limits. This framing is often used to argue that AI compute and computing technology still have enormous headroom.
