Samsung tests humanoid robot for 24/7 factory shifts, weighing CES 2027 debut
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-22
Samsung is testing a bipedal humanoid designed for round-the-clock operation at its Seoul R&D center, training it for navigation and material handling under shift-monitored runs, with a possible CES 2027 showcase. To maximize uptime, rivals use autonomous battery swapping (Boston Dynamics Atlas, UBTECH Walker S2, 3 minutes), fast charging (Agility Digit), wireless charging (Figure 03), and auto-docking (Tesla Optimus). Samsung's Metro-WM world model improved long-horizon task success by up to 37.33 percentage points and sped planning up to 10.9x; it is also developing dexterous hands for grasping, assembly, and flexible-wire connections. Its edge: testing humanoids in its own semiconductor, display, and appliance factories with real-world data feedback loops.
