Claude Max user says $250 cloud credit never deducted while plan limits drained in 9 hours
Previous_Reality_177 · reddit · 2026-10-22
A Claude Max (20x) top-tier user details weeks of degradation: usage draining faster, quality dropping, planned work unfinished.
Core complaint:
- Anthropic granted Max users a $250 credit for cloud sessions, and its own help page says cloud sessions draw that credit first before plan limits.
- After two days of cloud sessions, the credit sat untouched at $250/$250—yet the plan was drained: within 9 hours of the weekly reset, the Fable allowance was 100% used and 59% of the weekly limit consumed.
- Support was an AI bot that first blamed the user, then admitted the behavior contradicts how the credit should work, but refused to restore lost usage; escalating to a human took repeated attempts.
The author warns Max users to audit their usage pages and will update if Anthropic fixes it.
