Sanxingdui becomes China's first AI feature film cleared for theatrical release, powered by Vidu

The 100-minute sci-fi film 'Sanxingdui: Future Past' hits Chinese theaters on October 23 as the country's first AI hyper-realistic feature film to receive a public release permit, with Shengshu's Vidu as chief technology partner.
All characters are fully AI-generated—no human actors or digital replicas. Production combined Bona's in-house AIGMS 'Boka Film Cloud' studio with Vidu's video model to handle storyboarding, visuals and video generation end-to-end. Vidu frames the project as an open technical exploration of AI-driven cinematic storytelling.
