Claude Code cleaned ads off a Xiaomi TV via ADB — 200 PRs, 150 TV models later
Gathin23 · reddit · 2026-10-22
The author let Claude Code work over ADB to remove ads from their parents' TV: it found the TV on the network, disabled 25 Xiaomi ad/tracking packages (no root, disable-only, one-line rollback), and built a clean home screen. The key insight: the prompt is mostly a guardrail list — back up packages first, never touch setup/Wi-Fi/input/casting packages, ask before disabling anything the family uses. Within 4 days 200 people sent PRs, and the project (cleanyour.tv) now covers 150 models across 50 brands, with most rules learned from other people's TVs breaking in new ways.
