Render CEO Anurag Goel: most cloud software will become just-in-time and disposable
danshipper · x · 2026-10-22
Render founder/CEO and ex-Stripe early employee Anurag Goel argues that just-in-time disposable software is becoming the norm: when an LLM writes a Python script to answer one spreadsheet question and the script is never needed again, building per-question software starts to make sense. Implications he lays out: source control matters less for programs nobody will revise; verification must happen as code is generated and executed, without human review; permissions and spending limits must hold for code written moments before it runs; and agents will take over infrastructure decisions via cloud APIs — application-defined compute, acquired and released within task budgets. Result: problems that never justified a software project get their own software.
