One prompt: Claude builds an animated mech spider in Blender via MCP, first try
sidahuj · x · 2026-10-21
Creator Muska demonstrates using MCP for Blender to have Claude Opus 5.5 build an animated mechanical spider end-to-end from a single long prompt.
Approach and results:
- Concept designs and a hero image were first generated with image models (Midjourney), plus a concept sheet
- Given one long prompt, Claude modelled, painted, rigged, animated and lit the robot through MCP, set up a final walking shot, and even moved the viewport camera itself for a timelapse
- The build took about 1 hour (roughly one full Claude Pro session), spanning 21 build steps, and succeeded on the first attempt with no corrections
Workflow notes: Muska splits the process into eight steps, three of which happen before Blender even opens (concept design first); Claude ran at medium effort. The full prompt is published alongside the case study, and more Claude+Blender timelapse experiments are on the channel. A paid tier also integrates Hunyuan3D, Tripo and Hyper3D Rodin for shapes that are hard to script, from $10/month.
