Blacksmith raises $66M Series C at $1B valuation as AI agents explode CI demand

CI cloud provider Blacksmith announced a $66M Series C led by Sequoia Capital at a $1B valuation, bringing total funding to $125M, with participation from Premji Invest, Peak XV, GV and Y Combinator.
The key signal: AI coding agents are exploding CI demand. Anthropic disclosed last month that its CI job volume grew 25x in six months as Claude took over most code output. Blacksmith's weekly CI jobs grew from 5 million in January to over 90 million today, with 10,000+ companies on the platform. The founder argues that writing code is no longer the bottleneck—validating it is—and CI is the spikiest workload, with single customers regularly jumping from zero to tens of thousands of CPUs.
