Dev workflow tip: use .tool-versions to standardize runtime bumps, but ship first, clean up later
DanielLockyer · x · 2026-10-21
DanielLockyer previously suggested that when updating Node.js, PHP, Go, etc., if your changes involve many different version bumps, it's a good time to standardize version control—he likes .tool-versions, which most CI actions and dev tools like mise read.
He then self-corrected: don't do this now. Focus on getting the bumps done and shipped first, then clean up.
