NVIDIA OpenShell: open-source agent security architecture runs 11,000+ sandboxed agents per rack
NVIDIAAI · x · 2026-10-21
NVIDIA released OpenShell, an open-source reference architecture that treats agent workloads as untrusted and grants tool/data access only when needed. It combines Gateway, Supervisor, Sandbox and Policy Prover to manage sandbox lifecycles, mediate credentials and formally verify policies. On Vera CPUs (88 Olympus cores), CoreWeave measured 3x+ faster sandbox startup and 1.8x faster agentic loops vs x86, with a single rack supporting 11,000+ concurrent agent environments. BlueField-4 DPUs and Sentry add in-silicon enforcement that quarantines misbehaving agents within milliseconds.
