NVIDIA unveils OpenShell: an agent safety layer that can cut agents off the internet
testingcatalog · x · 2026-10-21
Live from GTC, testingcatalog details NVIDIA's newly announced OpenShell for Agents: a safety harness for AI agents that can cut an agent off from the internet if something goes wrong.
The architecture slide shows OpenShell comprising an isolated Harness, Gateway, Supervisor and Policy Prover, working with NVIDIA Sentry and a BlueField-4 DPU to monitor and enforce policy on agent token traffic to external APIs (e.g. api.github.com), with Knowledge and Tools supplied on the model side.
