The seven leading neoclouds — CoreWeave, Nebius, Fluidstack, IREN, Nscale, Lambda, and Crusoe — collectively carry about $84B in debt, with CoreWeave alone accounting for $42.3B (50%).
- Debt composition: CoreWeave's total includes $16.2B in GPU-backed loans, $10.8B convertible notes, $10B bonds and $5.1B supplier loans; Nebius owes $16.5B and Fluidstack up to $10B.
- The model: borrow from banks to build compute, repay from customer payments. Lenders trust CoreWeave because its customers include Microsoft, Meta and OpenAI, with $104B in signed contracts.
- Bottom line: despite revenue doubling this year, CoreWeave still needs to keep borrowing to expand. The accompanying chart breaks down each company's debt types and key customers (e.g., Google guarantees $4.6B of Fluidstack's data-center rent; Nvidia can invest up to $2.1B in IREN).
