Meta open-sources Muse Glimmer 30B, an on-device agentic model rivaling Gemma4-31B
meta · hf · 2026-10-21
Meta Superintelligence Labs has released Muse Glimmer 30B, an open-source (Apache 2.0) causal language model purpose-built for autonomous agentic tasks on consumer hardware.
- 30B parameters, quantized to 4-bit for efficient single-GPU local inference with no cloud dependency
- Integrates multi-step reasoning, reliable tool use, and failure recovery in a single model; accepts text and image inputs
- Trained on data from over a hundred languages
- Claims state-of-the-art agentic performance for its size class, outperforming Gemma4-31B and Qwen3.6-27B on tool use, multi-step planning, and task completion
A notable option for local agent deployments and privacy-sensitive use cases.
