Vercel Drives goes GA: developer says it replicates the Durable Objects programming model

Vercel announced Drives is now generally available, aimed at running stateful agents on Vercel.
Developer dylayed, after a week of hands-on use, frames it as Vercel shipping its own take on Durable Objects: create a named drive, attach a sandbox, and only one active instance ever touches that state — enough to recreate the Durable Objects programming model, with the drive as the main character rather than the sandbox.
He replicated an earlier agent substrate demo: the Pi agent checkpoints each step to a SQLite file on the drive; when the sandbox stops, even mid-turn, state is durably stashed and a new sandbox can later reattach to resume the conversation exactly where it left off.
