A Reddit user, collaborating with Codex, open-sourced forge-image-edit, a free image editing plugin for Forge Neo supporting both Qwen Image 2.1 and Fibo 2.0.
- Models: Fibo offers Edit Turbo and Dev int8 variants; Qwen 2.1 offers Turbo and Base, all hosted on Hugging Face under Comfy-Org
- Shared components: both use the same Qwen3VL text encoder and VAE — drop them into the corresponding folders
- Workflow: install the extension, refresh the model list, pick a checkpoint, open the Image Edit tab and click "Use matching encoder / VAE"
The author tested it for 5 hours on an RTX 3090; the plugin reuses elements from the img2img tab.
