CurieuxExplorer · x · 2026-10-21
Google Earth announced that, for the first time, all 39 annual global mosaics from 1984 to 2022 behind its Timelapse feature are available as open data in the Earth Engine Data Catalog, along with the full methodology.
Users can now build directly with the imagery—e.g. analyzing decades of urban growth, glacier retreat or deforestation—rather than just watching the animation. Full announcement linked in the original post.
