After testing 16 coding agents, an economist says escape the Codex/Claude Code bubble
felpix_ · x · 2026-10-21
Economist korenmiklos lists the 16 coding agents he has tried—Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Hermes Agent, Kimi Code, Zed's Delta, and more—currently working mainly with omp and Hermes, and urges anyone who's only seen Codex and Claude Code to try OpenCode first. felpix adds that frontier models are smart enough to adapt to any field, and that Codex/CC's dev-oriented context bloat can be mitigated by simply asking the agent to disable or delete unneeded harness components.
