lefsim: watch chromosomes fold in your browser with interactive loop extrusion sim
jmschreiber91 · x · 2026-10-21
lefsim is a new browser-based simulator that renders chromosome loop extrusion in real time. Users can add, remove and drag CTCF sites while watching contact maps emerge live, making the biophysics of chromatin folding an interactive playground rather than a static diagram.
It's a neat example of turning a complex biological process into a hands-on visualization tool, useful for teaching and building intuition about genome organization.
