Agentic-centered OS means redesigning the whole stack, researcher argues

Dimitris Papail argues an agentic-centered OS differs fundamentally from ChromeOS: not a re-skin but a redesign of the entire stack from machine code to UI. Many classic OS abstractions, he says, are unnecessary for agents — largely heaps of patches that make things slower and harder to debug — and despite sounding hubristic to fans of traditional OS design, the industry will eventually head that way.
