Sophont launches Holon-S1, an AI model predicting genes and biomarkers from pathology slides
iScienceLuvr · x · 2026-10-21
Sophont AI released Holon-S1, a platform that predicts spatially resolved gene expression and biomarkers from routine pathology slides cancer patients already have, replacing slow and expensive molecular testing. It beat two other models in a controlled spatial gene-activity comparison, surfaced potential novel biomarkers in breast and colon cancer, and was evaluated across 16 organ types and 15+ scanners on both FFPE and fresh-frozen tissue. Long-term goal: help doctors pick treatments personalized to each tumor's biology.
