Anthropic's 25M daily code checkouts broke git; rebuild cut cost from $90 to $4

Anthropic's coding agents push roughly 25 million code checkouts per day, forcing the company to rebuild "git" — traditional infrastructure built for humans now fails under agent workloads.
The author shares his own workflow: running 5-6 agents on independent tasks in parallel. A Rust compilation took 15 minutes per checkout; with Celesto, 1,000 commits cost just $4 versus $90 on GitHub, with faster total compilation. He also built a cost calculator for companies (link in the post).
