PyTorch Conference: Meta details torch.accelerator, torch_remat and FlexShard for large-scale training
PyTorch · x · 2026-10-21
At PyTorch Conference North America 2026, Meta research engineers Alban Desmaison and Edward Yang presented updates on simpler hardware integration and more reliable large-scale training: torch.accelerator with backend testing tools to catch issues before expensive runs, torchremat for activation checkpointing, and FlexShard for decoupling storage sharding from compute sharding. Keynote livestream runs Oct 20-21, 9 AM PDT.
