Musk: X retools For You ranking around read-through rate as daily active seconds hit highs

Elon Musk announced two key changes to X's For You timeline:

A new AI/SI ranking model that predicts probable time spent much better, sharpening an existing dwell-time objective
A retrieval-model rework: users and posts are turned into vectors to recall nearest matches from unfollowed accounts, now trained on read-through — posts people abandon halfway are less likely to make the shortlist
Musk claims daily user active seconds is growing exponentially and hitting all-time highs; the chart shows 2026 Daily UAS climbing from 400B to 500B seconds by October, well above 2023-2025 levels
