OpenAI admits Pro plan allowance bug, hands user $1,000 in credits

A user shared an official OpenAI email admitting that after upgrading from Pro 200 to Pro 500, a bug kept their weekly Codex/Work allowance at the old plan's level. OpenAI fixed it on October 16 and added $1,000 worth of credits (25,000 credits, expiring January 20, 2027) on top of the regular allowance — a rare hefty make-good for a billing error.
