Beacon raises $5.5M for open-source cross-tool memory layer for coding agents

Asymptote Labs launched Beacon, an open-source "self-improving memory layer" for coding agents, alongside a $5.5M seed round.
Beacon continuously distills your sessions across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and 20+ other harnesses into reusable skills, so switching tools doesn't mean re-explaining your whole project — one command hands everything the previous agent learned to the next one. The bet: your debugging habits and fixes should stay with you instead of being locked inside one company's tool. MIT-licensed, already at 1.8k GitHub stars.
