AI Harness: Code Isn't Scarce Anymore — Human Attention Is, Argues Microsoft AI PM
leslysandra · x · 2026-10-20
Adrián González Sánchez, Technical Product Manager at Microsoft AI, argues engineering teams have optimized the wrong scarcity: code is no longer scarce or expensive — Google's 2025 DORA report finds 90% of developers use AI daily, and GitHub merges 43M PRs a month (up 23% YoY).
But delivery tells another story: DORA finds AI amplifies whatever organizational system it lands in rather than fixing it, and METR's results question individual-level gains. He proposes an 'AI harness' to protect teams' cognitive attention for specifying, reviewing and trusting AI output. The issue also previews Infisical's Agent Vault: agents call APIs without ever seeing credentials, with scoped access, auto-expiry, and no-code integration into Claude Code or Codex.
