Boomi announced on October 19 the acquisition of Elementary Data, a data observability, quality, governance and discovery vendor, for approximately $40-45 million in cash and stock per Calcalist (terms undisclosed officially). It's Boomi's third Israeli acquisition after Rivery and Lunar.dev, with all 17 Elementary employees joining.
Started as an open-source project in 2022, Elementary serves 1,500+ data teams with 1.1M+ monthly downloads and 4,000 community members; customers included Fiverr and Patagonia. Combined capabilities include agent-driven monitoring for freshness/volume/quality anomalies, column-level lineage across ingestion-to-BI-to-AI, a data catalog with health scores, an MCP server exposing data context to AI agents, and agents that create tests and triage incidents. The author sees the deal as making data reliability visible before agents act, complementing Boomi's Active Data Foundation.
