New "Embodied Olympics" Benchmark: GPT and Claude Agents Play Soccer and Ping Pong
ManlingLi_ · x · 2026-10-20
A team has launched "Embodied Olympics" within a new benchmark called Embodied First Exam, pitting agents from different models (e.g., GPT vs Claude) against each other in sports like soccer, basketball, and table tennis. Author Ruohan Zhang looks back on his robotics research starting from RoboCup and cites Peter Stone's classic question—"Can a robot soccer team beat the World Cup champions by 2050?" Hardware constraints and the sim2real gap mean there's still a long way to go, but watching a coding agent gradually "solve" soccer is great fun.
