RoboCloth advisor: the dataset was 'much harder than it looks'
taiyasaki · x · 2026-10-20
taiyasaki, one of the RoboCloth authors, reposted the dataset announcement to credit lead author Zhen (Colin) Li — an SFU GrUVi Lab MSc student from the Zhejiang University–SFU dual program — noting the work was "much more challenging than it looks."
The post is an endorsement of the engineering effort behind the large-scale real-cloth capture pipeline; core details are in the main RoboCloth release: 500 real cloths, 580 views each, 80 billion observations, for neural reflectance reconstruction.
