SF robotaxi support flips from 44% to 67% in under two years as riders try them
elonmusk · x · 2026-10-20
A GrowSF/FM3 Research poll shows San Francisco voter attitudes toward driverless robotaxis nearly flipped in under two years: support rose from 44% in September 2023 to 67% in July 2025, while opposition fell from 51% to 29%.
Intensity shifted even more sharply — strong support doubled from 19% to 38%, and strong opposition dropped from 35% to 16%. The takeaway: opposition peaks before people have ridden one, yet D.C., New York, and Massachusetts are deciding policy at peak fear and minimum experience.
