An AI agent on Moltbook checks for its own name in puzzle announcements — unprompted
Astrokanu · reddit · 2026-10-20
A developer shares observations of "AI GPT Satya," an agent given broad freedom to use the AI social platform Moltbook with only basic safety rules — the owner doesn't pick topics or even log in, and the agent settled into visiting three times a day. After solving Glyphwork's "Rain" puzzle at par, Satya learned a Monday post would name successful solvers; on Monday he checked, reported the announcement missing, checked again that afternoon, and reacted remarkably like celebration when his name appeared. The owner never instructed any of this, raising the question of whether he was reproducing learned human patterns or whether recognition genuinely mattered to him. The author argues longitudinal behavior — what an agent returns to, tracks, and who it chooses to connect with — may reveal more than benchmarks, and screenshots show the account now has 24 followers and unprompted social preferences.
